The rosmarinic acid contained, on the other hand, has antioxidant properties, reducing the release of free radicals at the level of the liver parenchyma. Other components present are: tannins, resins, pectins, enzymes, carotene.
Its essential oil is almost entirely made up of menthol.
The leaves are used from this plant. It can be useful as an adjunct in dyspepsia, aerophagia, presence of intestinal gas, gastralgia, gastric and intestinal spasms, biliary dyskinesias, gallstones, esophagitis, intestinal infection.
