Ingredients
Water, alcohol, Enula (Inula helenium L.) root 20%, honey.
Quite rare plant, a probable stronghold of ancient cultivations and currently in the process of disappearing in southern Italy. Perennial, herbaceous species, with fleshy, thick and aromatic roots.
It has very large oval-spatulate lower leaves, bearing down, serrated, sharp and woolly caulines. The part used is the root. This remedy, known since ancient times as a tonic and diuretic, is useful against diseases of the respiratory tract, whooping cough and externally as a detergent and healing of wounds and sores.
Sesquiter lactones are hardly responsible for the secretolytic and expectorant, choleretic and diuretic properties of the Enula.
