Ingredients
Water, alcohol, Elichrysum (Helichrysum italicum Don.) Tops 20%, honey.
It extends over the slopes near the sea, from the beginning of the Tyrrhenian pine forests to the peaks close to the Apennines. Its perfume, very pleasant for everyone, lasts until after the death of the flowers and plants: Its blooms continue in turn, appearing alive over months and years, when, ending the vegetative, they pass to the ornamental function . The islanders, at one time, also used it to heal themselves, as an antihistamine.
They made infusions for asthmatic forms, for allergies and for rheumatism; poultices for skin allergies and erythema; vaporized for rhinits and sinusitis. They smoked its flowers in the pipe, dried in the sun and ground, against asthmatic attacks.
Contains essential oil, flavonoids, pyrano derivatives, sesquiter barely lactones, sterols, coumarins, carotenoids. For biological effects, the phytocomplex in general is important, more than the individual constituents.
