Ingredients
Water, alcohol, Chicory (Cichorium intybus L.) root 20% honey.
Chicory rhizome is known for its bitter-tonic, laxative, hypoglycemic and diuretic functions.
The bitter substance it contains, to which most therapeutic effects are attributed, is probably composed of lactucin and lactu-copicrin.
As early as 1939, some authors highlighted the hypoglycemic properties of its rhizome and it has been observed that it is also capable of containing within certain limits the hyperglycemia determined by starches and sugars in the diet.
Chicory is also endowed with a clear and exalted antithyroid activity.
Traditional adjuvant for diabetes and increased postprandial blood glucose, postprandial drowsiness, and gastric hyposecretion; it contains in fact, also inulin.
