Water, alcohol, Quina (Cinchona succirubra Pav.) Bark 20%, honey.
In herbal medicine, cinchona is used for its tonic, astringent, antiedemic, antiparasitic properties, but above all febrifuge.
The Pharmacopoeia uses its active ingredients to stimulate the function of the intestine, liver and stomach.
The bark is used from cinchona, yellow or red, depending on the variety. Thanks to its active principles (especially quinine) it has a protoplasmic toxic pharmacological action that manifests itself towards the protozoal forms with consequent antipyretic action. It is therefore an excellent febrifuge and anti-infective par excellence. Useful, also in later convalescence, prolonged illness or fatigue of continued psychophysical stress, accompanied by feverish states.
The active principles contained are mainly alkaloids, around thirty different types, among the most important: quinine, quinidine, quincomine and quincomidine, tannins, bitter substances and traces of essential oil.
