Ingredients
Water, alcohol, Calendula (Calendula officinalis L.) flowers 20%, honey.
Calendula is also widely used for external use (for washing or gel) against irritations, redness, eczema, wounds. Calendula contains an essential oil, calendulin, a bitter, saponin, vitamin C, salicylic acid. It has antispasmodic, anti-inflammatory, soothing, decongestant and moisturizing properties.
From this plant the flowering tops and leaves are used. Among its constituents we find triterpenes, flavonoids, essential oil, polyacetylenes, carotenes, xanthophylls, sesquiterpenic lactones (caleridin), immunostimulating polysaccharides.
Polyacetylenes and some essential oil fractions show bacteriostatic properties; immunostimulating polysaccharides and triterpenic saponosides, accelerate the healing of wounds and dermal inflammations, by leukocyte induction and connective proliferation; flavonoids are responsible for choleretic and diuretic activity.
