From the first pills that began to be made in 1906 in the Barcelona neighborhood of Gràcia to the most recently incorporated new products, the Juanola brand has always been characterized by a high demand on the quality, efficacy and naturalness of its products.
It all started with the pharmacist D. Manuel Juanola Reixach in 1906, with the emblematic "Pastillas Juanola", which are still the same ones made by hand (you will not find two the same), with their unmistakable rhombic shape, their peculiar black color and their flavor only. At that time the price of a 6 gram box was 2.5 cents.
The success of his idea was such that in 1907 more than 100,000 units were sold, a figure that 6 years later would reach 236,000 boxes. His promotion was based on the best and most effective of all possible promotions: word of mouth.
